KUCHING DAY 11
Woke up
and put the curtains away to see the fantastic view of Sarawak and the
beautiful walk along the river. We had really ended up in something totally
different, a clean green big city, in a room with a view, bathrobe, iron, desk
and a luxury bathroom. And for breakfast I could have both yoghurt and cheese,
so good for my stomach and my mind. We had our lecture today, as number two of the
conference. Quite challenging to speak about art and technology for an audience
mostly familiar with craft but we did it our way and though it was quite a new
subject it somehow changed the mind of natural colour could be. We had lunch
together with Jenny and Lina (from Sweden!) and the we went to a shibori
workshop. In the night we went to the opening of a new exhibition of Sumba
Ikat. Afterwards the organiser served a buffet with a variety of different
Asian and Indian food. It was a relief to end the night in the air conditioned
room at Hilton and finally go to bed after a long day.
