Grande
Finale. Last day of conference, last lectures, last day with the view from 12th
floor, time to say goodbye and also time to try to organise and pack everything
in my backpack. The journey has come to and end and I am longing home to my
family, to my work and the fresh Swedish air. And of course, unlimited
resources of cheese and yoghurt. I will miss the irresistible Indonesia; so
charming, coarse and honest. Still with so many genuine places where tourists never
show up. And of course, a rich textile tradition from the cottons growing wild
in the villages to the final beautiful weaves and batik. The conference was
finalised in Sarawak handicraft Village (Borneo’s “Skansen”) with dinner and
some dance.
